Gold coins and bars are the simplest gold to sell — usually 24K (999) or 22K (916). We verify the purity on XRF and pay at the day’s rate for that purity.
Banks often sell coins in sealed packs. When you sell them back, most banks don’t buy them — that’s where a gold buyer comes in. Keep the packaging and certificate if you have them, but coins out of the pack are bought too.
Generally banks do not buy back the coins they sell, which is why people sell them to a gold buyer.
It’s helpful but not compulsory; XRF testing confirms purity.
