A BIS hallmark is the government-recognised mark of gold purity in India. Since April 2023, hallmarked jewellery sold by jewellers carries a 6-digit alphanumeric HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification).

Hallmarking rules apply to jewellers selling jewellery. As a customer, you can still sell old, unhallmarked jewellery — the buyer tests the purity. We test every piece on XRF, hallmarked or not.
